My blog about life and getting out of debt.

I’ve been trying to save money left and right. Here’s some of the things I’ve been doing:
1. Line drying clothes
2. Using coupons
3. Plan out meals before grocery shopping and make a list
4. Cut grocery shopping to once or twice a week - I know this has saved me money on gas
5. Get books from the library (on grocery shopping day) INSTEAD of buying them
6. Sign up for free magazines INSTEAD of buying subscriptions
7. Cut satellite channels back to basic
8. Cut back house phone line to basic - no add ons
9. Pay bills online - saves on postage and a trip into town
10. Eat out less often
11. Try to lower interest rate on credit cards
12. Sign up for free samples - they all come with coupons
13. Sell stuff on Ebay
14. No more impulse buying - Don’t buy it if its not on the list
15. Shop around online for long distance plans - I cut ours buy 2/3
16. Eat leftovers
17. Stay home on the weekends
18. Check ALL monthly bills and statements closely
19. Open household windows, fresh air is so nice and gets rid of that stuffy feeling
20. Do full loads of laundry
21. Stop buying junk food. The only “grab and go” type of foods allowed in my house are sweets I bake myself or fruits and veggies.
I have my chickens free range in the evenings, this saves on feed and I tie my miniature donkeys out on leads to graze every afternoon so they eat for free!

Hi there!
You left some comments on my blog, so I thought I’d pop over and visit yours! I’ve really enjoyed reading through some of your posts. It seems like you’re making some wonderful progress, you must be so proud of yourself.
Isn’t it amazing the peace that comes with being organized? I’m making slow and steady progress in that area as well - although I still have a ways to go. And the money savings is a nice perk too!
I’ll be back to visit again.
Take care,
Alissa
Hi!
I just found your blog through Budgets Are Sexy. Looks like you have a nice site.
It’s easy to do most of those things, I have the hardest time with eating leftovers and finding coupons. We don’t get the local paper, so coupons are hard to come by, and I often forget them.
Good Luck with staying thrifty.
