You will need to know your Social Security Number, Filing Status and the number of exemptions shown on your 2007 tax return.

I just found out on the IRS site that my refund was deposited on 5/02/08. In the next couple of days I’m planning on using that money to pay off my State taxes owed. I’ll be changing my “State Taxes Owed” slider over to the right to 100% paid! In Oct. 2007, I thought I’d be making payments to the state for the next three years never did I even think it was possible to pay it off this soon. This is going to be a HUGE burden lifted off my shoulders.  I’m thinking it’s time to break out the beer and party it up a little.

I’m so excited! My husband called his boss today and asked him when the bonus was coming and he said this Friday. Sadly it’s going to be included in my husband’s paycheck so they are going to tax the you know what out of it. Here’s the exciting part - the bonus is for $13,800! After taxes, I’ll have more than enough money to pay off my husbands truck.

My husband is so a little mystified why paying off the truck makes me so happy, after all the payment is “only” $250 a month. I think he’d rather spend the money on “man toys” but there is no way he’d want to hurt me like that, he knows what a heavy burden making all these payments is on me every month. Normally with a windfall like this, I’d let him go buy another toy or another rifle. Not this time though, we’re in a financial mess and it’s way past time that we started cleaning it up.

This money is also going to help me give my oldest a good high school graduation gift. At this point I’m thinking about giving her $500 cash. It scares me to think she’s going to go out there and blow it on God knows what. I’m hoping she’ll save it and use it for college books.

Last night I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Oh my, I forgot how good they are. YUM!
