Pigs on the front lawn!

This morning I was walking down my very long hall and could hear one of our dogs barking softly on the front lawn.  I listened, trying to figure out what the barking was about and heard a pig snort!  My girls 4-H pigs were loose and laying on the front lawn.

I went around the house yelling for the girls, my son, and my husband to get their shoes on because at least one of the hogs were loose.  I ran and got a pig board from the garage and went around the house to the front lawn.  I found both the fair pigs laying in the shade.  My daughters, son, and husband came out of the house.  My girls went and got a bucket of food to lure the hogs back to their pen but it didn’t work, they’d already eaten.  My husband had the pig stick and we tried unsuccessfully to move the hogs.  We finally went and got another pig board and managed to corral the pigs around the house, down our driveway and back into their pen.  It took us about 30 minutes to pen them and by the time we were all exhausted and sweaty from chasing them around.

My girls really lucked out this time.  The pigs could have ran down the road and into the highway.
