Thankfully Christmas is OVER!

in debt, life

I can’t tell you how happy I am now that Christmas is OVER!  My living room is still a mess, there’s still piles of wrapping paper and piles of gifts laying around.  I told my kids I want all their gifts put up by tonight, I just don’t want to look at any of it any more.  My husband got me the perfect gifts,  nice and practical.  I got a pair of warm boots, 3 pairs of sneakers and a new robe.  Not exactly glamorous gifts but absolutely perfect for me!  I plan on packing up our Christmas tree tonight so I don’t have to look at it any more.   I’m bad!!!

My husband went back to work on the 22nd and won’t be home until after New Years.  He helped me get the Christmas shopping done but all the wrapping was on me.  I don’t mind wrapping so much but with 4 kids it takes awhile to get it all done.  I was up until almost 2 am on Christmas getting all the gifts wrapped.  The kids had a great Christmas, and best of all, for the first time, probably in 15 years or so, I didn’t charge anything on credit cards this Christmas! I’m stilll going to dread getting my credit card statements in January but at least I won’t see any charges and my balance won’t be up.  This is HUGE for me.

I am feeling the same way about post Christmas. I have spent most of the day tidying, sorting, putting away, packing up etc and the house still looks as though I’ve yet to begin.

No new CC debt is great, way to go. I need to take down Christmas stuff yet, we have had a busy and cold end of the year.

I see that your debt load is very similar to ours. This makes me feel better, since I thought I was the only one.

I don’t mean to leave spam but I am just starting my blog and I would like a few people to consider adding me as a favorite or a follower or whatever so I can get started hanging out with all of you fine people trying to do the same thing I’m trying to do. I have worked hard on setting up the blog, so would you consider looking at it and reading my introductory post (today’s – even though there are two posts prior)? Thanks and I promise never to leave you an off-topic comment again. I’ve been enjoying reading your blog, really – I have favorite’d about 12 or so people and you’re one of them. THANKS!
