January Online Income – Best Month Ever!

in Online Money, life

Woooooo Hoooooo!  I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere with my online income.  January was my best month ever!

January Online Earnings Breakdown

$153.59…………..EPN
$  50.00…………..2 EPN signups – I’m not sure when I’ll get credited for these.
$236.55…………..Commission Junction – Diet Related Stuff sold through links
$  51.48…………..PPC
$    6.76…………..Amazon Associates – I sold some weird stuff here
——-
$498.38 Online Earnings for January!!!!!!!

My husband laughs at me for getting so excited about such a “small amount” of money.  I’m thrilled though and hope my online earnings grow month by month. This “small amount” of money is helping me get out of debt faster so to me it’s worth it.

One of the things I’m most excited about was my EPN earnings!  I’m not sure if you can see it or not (the gold line is the earnings line, see how it doesn’t quite touch bottom) but I made money every single day in January with EPN!  Granted a few days were pretty skimpy, I think my lowest day was $0.12!  LOL but hey it’s money.  In previous months I’d be lucky if I had sales 10 days in a row but in January having a sale every day was a HUGE goal I was looking for.

What Changed?  Why the Increase in Income?

I can only speculate what changed.  I’m sure my domains aging had something to do with them showing up better on Google, Yahoo, and MSN search engines.  I’ve been blogging away on my niche blogs and I’ve been busy building backlinks, all the regular stuff.

I think what helped me out the most was joining Amy Bass’s The Niche Blogger.  She had a step by step program for making money with Wordpress Niche blogs.  She has so much information and she keeps adding to more great info, it’s literally a step by step, day by day program you can follow at your own pace.  To tell the truth, I don’t even follow 1/2 her advise but I have implemented small changes here and there and what a HUGE difference it’s made for me.  I can only imagine how much more money I’d make if I wasn’t so LAZY and hard headed and just followed her program step by step.

I’ve been blogging since March 2008, (guessing) and before joining The Niche Blogger my PPC (pay per click) income was non-existent, seriously I’d get around $0.15 a month, so I took it all down.  I decided to give PPC another try in December and my income was around $29. I played with ad placements and took some advice from the Niche Blogger forums and in January, I earned $51.48 which is a huge improvement.  I can’t believe I didn’t think of making these changes before.  It’s little things like this that really add up to a nice little paycheck at the end of the month.  If I can keep up what I’ve done so far, it looks like I’ll be making $70 or so this month with PPC.  I’m hoping some of my newer blogs start getting more traffic and if they do then I’ll make even more! That’s another thing I wanted to point out, before joining Amy’s program, I had no idea certain keywords paid more than others, I’m actually able to now choose better niche’s based on better paying keywords. Gosh I feel like a dummy for not knowing this before. It’s like I was in the dark, then joined The Niche Blogger and now I can see.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog but don’t know how to or if you already have a blog but aren’t earning the money you’d like to be earning then go check out Amy’s program. Try The Niche Blogger for FREE! Click Here for a FREE 3 Day Trial

I can’t wait to see what February brings!

I too am a member of the niche blogger. My results are not as good as yours but I hope to improve. What’s your secret? What are you using to parse your commenters feeds?

I’m not sure what I’m “using to parse commenters feeds”, I don’t even know what that means!

I don’t really have a secret for the results I have. My blogs have aged some and I think that helps me get traffic. Also using this WP plugin helps me land on Yahoo and Google’s 1st pages for things I’d never thing about, or even knew existed and the people looking for them are looking to buy.

As far as PPC programs, it’s all about ad placement. Play around with your settings and see what works best for you. I have never even submitted an article to a directory yet, I’m hoping to get around to doing this in Feb so I can see an increase in traffic and sales.

Maybe it’s just me, but this feels like SPAM. I mean sure people are searching for something, may come across one of your blogs, and click something. It seems misleading or misdirection, but you get paid for setting the system up. Maybe it just bothers me, but the ads just get in the way. Remember when pop up ads were a huge pain in the ass and then the same company creating those ads made blocking software to stop them? It’s just like the tobacco companies who not only sell the product, they also have programs to stop it. Clutter on the internet to me.

Congrats to you! Great tips too… thank you.

I’m curious, is your blog anonymous? I ask because mine is not. My name isn’t listed, but people in my life know about it. For that reason I do not list my debt amount or other finance info. I’d love your thoughts on this…

All this blogging stuff is new to me. I have had websites before but not blogs for income. So i’m hoping it works out for me as well as it has for you. $498 would be a huge extra for me.
