I’m still paying off credit card debt. I didn’t fall off the wagon and go on a credit card spending spree.
Here’s the progress made in the last few months getting rid of credit card debt:
Credit Card Snapshot From Mint.com. My credit card balance is at $35,973.62! I’m not nearly where I wanted to be when I first started this blog but I’m still making progress paying off credit card debt and going in the right direction. Since starting my debt blog and reduction plan a little over a year ago, I have managed to pay off $7,626.38!
Last month Citibank sent me an offer I couldn’t refuse. They sent me some checks for credit card balance transfers and I had two options:
- 0% for 12 months OR
- 3.9% for 15 months (or something like this, I can’t really remember)
I opted for the 0% for 12 months. By taking Citibank up on this offer I’ll be saving $190 in interest fees for one whole month or… $2,280 for the entire year! I’m really excited! I think Citibank is CRAZY making this offer to me, look at my credit card debt. All these credit cards are in my name and I’ve been a stay at home more for 14 years!
I paid off another vehicle – 1 year early!
In the past year, I have now managed to pay off two vehicles early! The latest vehicle I paid off in March. The payoff was $7,000+. I know I could have paid off some of my credit cards with the money but paying off my vehicle made more sense to me. If times got really hard at least I’d have the vehicle to sell.
Now I have an additional $350 a month to apply to my credit cards.

Great job on hanging in there getting that vehicle paid off. Goals are great to have but you can’t always look at the big picture. Take everything in baby steps and set mini-goals of what you want to get the balance to by a specific time period. Maybe the goal would be to pay off so much by a certain date, or something like that? Just curious, how long that Chase card will still have a balance?
Jim – Good news I paid off the Chase credit card last week! Woo Hoo go me!!!!
I had recently made about $500 online and used this money to pay off the Chase credit card.
Now I suppose, you have been able to pay off your debts…… right?
