Here’s my latest getting out of credit card debt update. I’m now down to owing $28,881.07 on the credit cards! Woo hoo! My next big goal to cross is getting under $25,000, I can’t wait!
I have something pretty exciting to report. I recently received my property tax bill from the county and for the first time in YEARS I’m not worried about making the payment.
If you’ve been reading about my struggles to become debt free for a while then you may remember shortly after starting my debt free goal I had actually had to use a credit card check (you know those ones that come in the mail from the credit cards around tax time) to pay the 2nd half of my property taxes. It was either use the credit card check or be several months late on my property taxes, so I went ahead and used the credit card check. This made me feel like a complete failure! Here I was trying to become debt free and I hit a road bump right out of the starting gate and charged $1,500. Ugg, that was rough but things are a changing!
This year is completely different in a good way! I have the cash to pay my property taxes and I have the cash to actually pay all $3,000 in one installment so I won’t have to worry about the 2nd payment next April when it’s due. I’m going to pay both installments something this week. Update! I paid for my property taxes in full on 11/04/09. Things are really turning around for the better financially for me and my family.
I’m going to try and figure out what I can do to raise some more money to pay off my credit card debt. I’m thinking about creating websites and selling them on flippa. I’ve seen some websites on there sell for $150 or so. It would cost me $10 to register the domain and the rest of the cost would be in my time. I’d have to do keyword research and write up some original content. I’m quite sure I could create at least two sites a week to flip. This could potentially add another $150-$1,200 a month I could generate to pay off my debt. I know not all sites sell so that is why my estimate varies. This is something for me to thing about. Hmmmm……..
